Spend your time more productively

About

My name is Lucy and I am a Freelance Virtual Assistant.

I have a wealth of professional experience that I am passionate about using to support you getting the most out of your day. My background is Customer Service, going from retail, to library assistant, to then working as an adviser for my local authority. During this time I learnt to use multiple online application systems, to capture information, confidential details, and processing of payments.

My role in retail went from a Saturday job in a local shoe shop to full time management at Neal’s Yard Remedies, over a twenty year period. I progressed with each new job, learning new skills and different ways to work, both with customers and behind the scenes.

I gradually made my way out of retail once having my children, and took on a casual role with the local library service. This progressed into a permanent part time job, which I thoroughly enjoyed, meeting and supporting local residents. From here I went to work for the local authority, as the hours were better suited for family life. In a customer advisor role, I was able to use my retail skills alongside my more recent administrative skills from the library service, together in one place.

While working for the local authority I learnt so much more than I could’ve imagined, about our local borough and the services provided. My IT skills were massively improved over the eight years here, due to the multiple online applications used each day supporting the local residents.

Which brings me to where I am now. Due to personal circumstances I had to find a more flexible approach to work, so provided admin support for a friend’s local business part time. This worked out to be perfect for our home life, and so decided to start my own business as a Freelance Virtual Assistant!
